Puppies born with physical deformities are often euthanized. Not a lot of people would want to adopt a puppy that is less than perfect. It’s such a shame because some of the puppies euthanized have the potential of becoming amazing family pets.
A Boxer puppy named Duncan was born with both of his back legs twisted. When he was rescued from a breeder, the rescuers had little hope for Duncan. Everyone thought that Duncan would be euthanized because of his physical deformity.
Fortunately, they contacted Panda Paws, which is an animal rescue organization run by a woman named Amanda Giese. When Amanda took in Duncan, she was told that she could choose to put Duncan to sleep humanely, or she can decide to amputate the deformed back legs.
Amanda chose the latter. Duncan did have wheels after his back legs were euthanized, but Duncan refused to use the wheels. Duncan learned to walk and run using only his two front legs.
Duncan didn’t qualify for prosthetics because there was nothing to attach the prosthetics on his body. So, Duncan needed to learn everything the hard way. Duncan learned to balance on his two front legs.
Duncan also had a heart problem and have suffered from cardiac arrest twice. On both occasions, Amanda was able to revive Duncan by giving him CPR. Despite everything that Duncan’s been through, Duncan showed resilience and lived life as a happy dog.
Duncan didn’t let his disability and health condition get in the way. Even with only two front legs, Duncan is still able to catch up and play with all the other dogs. He can also run almost as fast as most dogs with four legs.
Duncan doesn’t know any different, and he continues to amaze people who see him. People may feel sorry for Duncan when they first see him, but when they realize that Duncan lives happily and isn’t affected by his disability at all, people feel inspired instead. Here’s an inspirational and heartwarming video showing how Duncan is living a great life, even with only two legs.
