A lot of dogs experience immense trauma. But stumbling upon a misfortune on top of this trauma certainly makes them an unlucky dog. A pup named Dillon certainly knows this because he has experienced it already.
After enduring his owner’s tragedy, Dillon lived in a shelter for two years, and it appeared that no one really wanted to take him home. But his search came to an end when kind-hearted individuals decided to be his family.
Dillon’s unlucky life
Dillon, who was once hailed as Britain’s Unluckiest Dog, lived at the Cornwall branch of the National Animal Welfare Trust. But before he got there, he was found dealing with a rather miserable and sad situation.
When he was rescued, he was looking after the dead body of his owner. It seemed that he didn’t want to leave him alone, thinking that he would get up.
After his owner’s death, there had been a lot of failed attempts to find him a home. Things seemed hopeless, but things were destined to get better for the pup.
Dillon’s got a new family!
In the middle of December, the orphaned pup’s luck ultimately changed. He left the shelter because he got a new family just in time for Christmas.
A representative from the Cornwall-based shelter said that the whole team taking care of Dillon shed tears of joy.
The said representative explained that after a national and international campaign to find the pup a family, they finally had an application that ticked all the dog’s requirements. After the shelter arranged a meet-up with the prospective family, Dillon’s would-be owners immediately fell in love with him.
And it seems that Dillon really loves his new home. According to his new parents, the pup has already found his favorite spot, which is the sofa.
Dillon’s new parents have also said that the pup’s arrival at their home is a perfect gift in time for Christmas.
