Before she was rescued, this mama dog had been living in a junkyard for weeks. The workers at the junkyard were delighted to have her and fed her on a daily basis and their friendship blossomed. She also gave birth to nine puppies on the grounds.
Most of the puppies had already been given away by the time the rescuers arrived. It was the appropriate decision because living in the junkyard would put them in danger. Even if the staff was delighted to look after them, a junkyard was not the place for pups.
There were two puppies left in the junkyard along with the momma dog. The staff decided they could use the support of the Hope For Paws rescue group because no one else was willing to adopt one or all of them. Their talk was brief, and the rescuers arrived at the junkyard shortly thereafter.
It was simple enough to secure the mother dog and one of her puppies. Then, they searched the area for the second puppy but were taken aback by what they saw next. The second dog had already died, and the rescuers were as surprised as the workers there.
It was pointless to bring the second puppy’s body with them so the rescuers made a phone call and arranged for the cremation of the second puppy. It was time to leave after that, but their task was far from done.
They still needed to save another dog. A homeless mixed-breed Chihuahua was virtually begging to be adopted. Thankfully, this rescue effort was neither as difficult nor as heartbreaking as the previous one.
All they needed was a cage and some food to get started. The Chihuahua entered the cage quickly. Then he began munching on the food that had been provided as bait.
The entire troop made their way to Hope For Paws’ headquarters after securing the three homeless dogs. During the drive, the dogs were really adorable and cooperative. Moondusk, Vegas, and Bingo became their given names.
