Some of us have found ourselves to be in the right place and at the right time to help someone in need. In this particular story, a quick-thinking man just got home and he saved a dog just before it got into a gruesome and horrifying situation.
New tenant
As he usually does, Johnny Mathis parked his car in the underground garage and used the elevator to get to the ground floor. This is where his apartment is.
As Johnny stepped out of the lift, he saw a woman and her dog approach him. She was a new tenant and just moved into their apartment building.
He thought nothing of it and went directly to his apartment. But then, he suddenly heard some screaming and a dog yelping. He turned around and to his horror, he saw that the elevator doors were closed, but the dog was still outside. The other end of his leash was inside the elevator.
Apparently, the dog’s owner stepped inside the elevator, and the dog didn’t follow fast enough. The lady didn’t realize that her dog was not inside with her. When the elevator doors closed, she noticed that the other end of the leash she was holding was outside the closed doors.
Quick-thinking
Realizing that the dog was in danger, Johnny rushed to the rescue. He bent down and grabbed the dog’s leash. For a few seconds, he struggled to get the pup free. Then the elevator started moving and the dog was lifted off the ground.
Fortunately, Johnny was able to get the dog free by then. He held on to the pomeranian until her owner went back down. The lady still didn’t know then that her dog was saved.
And when the doors opened, she saw Johnny holding her precious pet. She was ecstatic to see that everything was fine.
She thanked Johnny profusely, and she said that she didn’t know that the doors closed very quickly. In any case, she was glad that her quick-thinking neighbor was there to help.
