Some dog owners only do the bare minimum for their dogs. They are also the type of owners who would abandon their dogs without a second thought. Fortunately, there are dog rescuers out there willing to step in and save dogs from neglect.
John is a man who runs a dog rescue organization called Ruff Riders Animal Transport. He and his team rescue dogs from North Canada and move them to Toronto. Their goal is to take dogs from a neglectful community and move them to a more caring and compassionate environment or neighborhood.
One day, John met a senior dog named Larry during one of his dog rescue operations. The dog’s owner abandoned him, so the neighborhood kept him fed. However, Larry was wandering around town and had no place to stay. John got a call from one of the townspeople who constantly fed the dog, informing him that Larry needed help.
John went on a long drive to take Larry to his rescue shelter. The rescuer felt a sense of fulfillment when he saw how affectionate Larry was. Eventually, the newly rescued dog became a good influence on the other dogs in the shelter.
When Larry went to a foster home, he didn’t like it. John realized that the senior dog was better off interacting with many dogs than being in a normal home. That’s why he brought him back to the shelter, where he can meet and play with hundreds of dogs.
Larry loves being outside, and he insists on staying out even if John says otherwise. However, if he’s going out, he needs the other dogs to be there too. If John leaves him outside alone, Larry would cry and beg to go inside where the other dogs are.
There is no doubt that Larry belongs with John and his other dogs. His protective behavior and kind nature complement the group well. The pack needs him as much as he needs them.
