Here is a heartwarming story of how one dog turned into a mother for a night when she did something incredible.
Not all heroes wear long capes, and not all heroes are humans. Some heroes come in the form of four-legged-animals. In this story, you will see how an Australian Shepherd Mix named Maggie was eager to lend a hand even if she was locked in a kennel.
Maggie, who recently had puppies of her own, was staying at a pet motel in Canada that also houses foster pets. She was only meant to stay in there for a while. But in the middle of the night, she attempted to break out of her kennel. Why? To comfort two helpless puppies on their first night there.
The two puppies were fosters and were just nine weeks old. They both were staying in the pet motel, patiently waiting to be adopted by loving families. Since it was their first night, they were no doubt cold and afraid. But fortunately, Maggie came in to rescue for she knew exactly what the pups needed.
Maggie tried her best to get out of her kennel and ran straight to the two puppies to comfort them. One staff member shared that she had just weaned her own puppies a few weeks before. This was probably why her maternal instincts were still in full swing when she heard the puppies crying.
Moreover, the surveillance video managed to catch everything. Maggie had gone to the puppies to comfort them, lick them through the gate, then cuddled them to keep them warm. The staff member also shares that they have never really seen a mother dog sneak out before to help some puppies in need.
Watch Maggie’s heroic deed through the video below and it will surely bring a smile to your face.
