Oxana Malaya was heartlessly abandoned by her alcoholic parents when she was three years old because they wanted to have a baby boy. The Ukrainian girl ended up in the dogs’ kennel since she had nowhere else to go.
Oxana ended up being fostered by their dogs for about five years. The pups treated Oxana like one of their own and did not hesitate to share their food with her.
One concerned citizen saw how the girl suffered, so he reported the incident to the authorities. The officers rescued Oxana from her parents as soon as they received the report about what happened to her.
Oxana stayed in a local rescue and rehabilitation where she received urgent medical treatment. The doctors eventually noticed that the eight-year-old girl had a strange behavior, which they believed that Oxana copied from the dogs that fostered her.
The health workers observed that Oxana exhibited an attitude that is similar to a dog. Oxana barked, walked on all fours, and she could not speak because no one taught her how to act like a regular child.
The doctors agreed that Oxana needed a different type of rehabilitation because she was a special case. Luckily, Oxana was physically healthy, so the physicians focused on the little girl’s psychological problems to help her live a normal life.
Fortunately, Oxana gradually improved and learned how to behave like a regular human. Oxana can finally speak her native language fluently, and act like an ordinary human, thanks to all the doctors who helped her.
Oxana still exhibits a behavior that is similar to dogs, but she is slowly getting better as time passed. Oxana did not hesitate to offer her gratitude to the dogs who cared for her because she would not be alive without them.
