Lorraine Dickens and her whole family love animals – but they waited for the right time before they got their very own family pet. Lorraine, along with her husband and two kids, finally got their dog – an adorable black and tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who they named Lily. According to Lorraine, Charles Spaniels are generally gentle and kind dogs perfect for families with kids.
The whole household adored Lily. She’s the pet they’ve all waited for. Sadly, a tragedy struck the family. A day before she turns one, Lily went missing. The distraught family looked for the beloved dog everywhere, to no avail. It is as if she just vanished into thin air.
According to Lorraine, Lily can’t sneak in between the picket fences, nor did she got out from their gate. Also, knowing the little canine, they know she wouldn’t go out of their lawn. The devastated family thought someone stole their poor Lily.
For months, Lorraine and her family searched for their dog. Her kids, Allen and Henry, helped out by joining their mother in putting up missing posters around their neighborhood – hoping they could find Lily. For almost two years, Lorraine and her family continued looking for Lily. They also waited for the call from the microchip company – to know if, by any chance, someone has picked up the poor dog.
Just when all hope seemed to run low, the Dickens received a call – somebody found Lily! Lorraine and her family could not believe it! After almost twenty-two months of searching, they finally heard the most coveted words! According to Lorraine, tears blurred her eyes upon hearing the news!
The reunion’s reminiscent of that of a movie – Lily finally comes home. The reunion touched so many. Lily looked ecstatic and excited upon seeing her owners. The Dickens cried tears of joy – finally, the fifth member of their family is back home.
