It’s always heartbreaking seeing dogs suffering as a result of abuse and neglect from humans. Dogs are pure creatures who are never afraid to show their love for their humans, which is why we should always treat our dogs like they’re part of our families. We should always remember that it’s our responsibility as humans to give the dogs we adopt a happy life.
A dog named Eugene was already 12-years-old when he was rescued and adopted by a loving family. Eugene was extremely malnourished when he came into his new forever home and he really didn’t know what to do. During the first three hours in his new home, he just paced through the entire top floor of his new home.
Eugene seemed to be so overwhelmed by the changes in his life that he was terrified of everything. All he just wanted to do was to be near his new mom, Adrian, to reassure him and keep him company. For Eugene, his new life is a big change from his old one.
Adrian’s family adopted Eugene spontaneously. She really didn’t know anything about Eugene’s past except that he’s already a senior dog and that he had skin issues. Adrian suspects that he was just so overwhelmed by the big open space that he didn’t know what to do.
It took a lot of reassurance to help Eugene adjust to his new home. The first thing that Eugene learned was to sleep on a dog bed that his family got for him. When he learned that the dog bed is a comfortable place to sleep in, he started using it.
It took a few weeks but Eugene finally started to adjust to his new life. He’s a lot more comfortable in his new home and he just loves spending time with his new family. He always wants to be with his new humans and loves playing with his new doggie siblings.
After a while, Eugene started acting like a puppy again. Despite his age, he’s still very playful although he does get tired easily. Thanks to his new family, Eugene is learning how to be a puppy again. Here’s a video featuring Eugene’s story and his heartwarming transformation.
