Some people think that dogs living in animal shelters have the best lives. This is a misconception because, most of the time, animal shelter dogs could also get scared and confused. Some dogs get confused, especially when they feel unwanted because no one wants to adopt them. This is a reality inside most animal shelters.
Pit bulls are often misunderstood, if not discriminated. Due to their mean face, people confuse this dog breed as a bad and harmful pet. However, this is a misplaced prejudice because, like other dogs, pit bulls could also be loyal and sweet.
Fortunately, though, not all people think this way when they see pit bulls. Karri McCreary is one of them. Karri went to visit the Greenville Animal Shelter in Texas in the hopes of finding her pair. When she visited, there was a disease outbreak in the animal shelter. But more than the disease, Karri unearthed a lonely soul inside the animal shelter.
Karri was referring to the pooch named Big Boo, who was not given a chance at adoption because he was a pit bull. When she saw Karri, the pooch seemed sad because he was facing the wall with his head bowed down.
For her to get the whole picture, Karri asked the volunteers about the pooch. During that time, she learned that Big Boo has been at the shelter for quite some time. The volunteers likewise said that no one wants to adopt the dog because of his breed.
Upon hearing this, Karri got heartbroken. This is why she went near the pooch and gave him a blanket. It was a simple gesture from Karri, but the dog appreciated it. After receiving the blanket, Big Boo cuddled it like there is no tomorrow. With the dog’s action, Karri knows that Big Boo is more than a pit bull.
