Pet dogs often need companions so they don’t get too lonely. This is the reason why many owners adopt two dogs. If that’s not the case, they will adopt another dog after getting their first one.
Charles and Shyann are a couple looking for a new dog companion for their bulldog. They went to the Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans to find out. The couple was greeted by the owner of the rescue center, Tia Torres.
The couple told Tia what they wanted. They weren’t looking for any specific breed. They just want a dog that would get along with their dog, Winston. They once had an English bulldog named Emma, but she passed away due to heart failure.
Tia first introduced a dog named Bisa. She was a rescued dog that’s very energetic and social. Her previous owner thought she was poisoned, but it turns out that she just didn’t have leash training.
The couple liked Bisa, but the real test was up to Winston. There was no aggression between the two dogs. However, Winston didn’t seem interested, and there was a point he looked uncomfortable.
The second dog introduced was a female beagle named Dopey. Her name reflects her personality. It also helped that she was smaller than Winston, so he doesn’t feel intimidated.
Charles and Shyann loved Dopey’s personality. They also saw how Winston’s tail was wagging. It was a different interaction compared to the previous one—a more positive one for sure.
After a few weeks, Tia’s daughter-in-law visited Charles and Shyann. She was tasked to help deliver Dopey to her new home. Before doing so, she checked the two dogs’ compatibility once more. Dopey and Winston still got along like they first did during the initial meeting.
Dopey is now in the hands of loving and caring owners. Winston got a new friend. Charles and Shyann couldn’t be happier.
