Nicole Daniels and her partner, Josh Smith, adopted a few-week-old multicolored kitten and named her Penelope. Nicole recalled that Penelope was initially timid, but her mischievous personality eventually came out when she reached one month old.
Nicole shared that she and Josh were relaxing in their apartment when they suddenly heard a rattling noise. Nicole rushed to the laundry room and found Penelope running inside the washing machine.
Nicole said she had read tons of books about raising cats, but she did not find anything about how to stop a kitty from running inside a washing machine. Nicole and Josh eventually realized that their cat was bored and needed a companion, so they decided to get a Cavapoo puppy named Juniper.
Nicole and Josh admitted that they were nervous when they first brought the Cavapoo pooch home, so they decided to put up a doggy gate covered with a blanket in between the two animals. The couple was unsure about how Penelope and Juniper would react to one another, but they quickly noticed how eager they were to meet one another.
Penelope kept looking over and eventually jumped right over the barrier because she wanted to have a good look at her new doggy sibling. Nicole quickly separated the two animals because she was nervous about Penelope scratching Juniper’s face, so she decided to remove the blanket for the two animals to see each other through the gate.
Nicole shared that Penelope wanted to be near Juniper, so she kept squeezing herself through the gate to play with her puppy sibling. Juniper eventually became curious about Penelope that she started following and chasing her kitty sister around the house.
Nicole recalled how big of a troublemaker Penelope and Juniper were as time passed. However, she was relieved that her two furbabies enjoyed being in each other’s company that they eventually began mirroring one another’s adorable little quirks.
