A dog named Penny got adopted by her family around two years ago from an animal shelter in Salem, Massachusetts. And this was after she, along with her littermates, were found abandoned next to a dumpster.
According to her fur mom, Deanna Greenstein, the workers in the shelter thought Penny would be a timid dog. Despite that, Greenstein felt some connection with her and decided to adopt her. And the moment she got out of the animal shelter, Penny’s shyness disappeared. She has now become a showboat.
Now, Penny is one goofy pooch and loves being with plenty of kids.
When Greenstein began planning out a Christmas card for the family, she wanted Penny to play a part — however, when the photo session started, the pooch wasn’t in a cooperative mood. Penny refused to sit still; thus, Greenstein tried taking pictures of only the kids.
However, of course, Penny did not like that either.
It was like the pooch got insulted that her fur mom moved on from her. Thus, she leaped in front of the camera, barked, and caused a general ruckus. Her fur mom ended up taking around a hundred pictures over the 20 minutes of attempting to do a photo shoot.
Greenstein later sat down with her kids to look at the results and couldn’t help laughing at how the photos turned out.
The kids helped Greenstein choose which photos to use on their card. They all decided to send the Christmas card from Penny and with them as her entourage.
They hoped that their goofy Christmas card would bring some smile to everyone’s faces — including Greenstein’s husband, who did not know anything regarding the Christmas card until it arrived.
Greenstein and the kids only told her husband to go pick the card up. He ended up laughing hysterically while at the parking lot upon opening the box and seeing the Christmas card.
People have begun receiving the Greenstein family’s Christmas card, and they love it so much, especially with the star of the card being Penny.
