Maya is a Siberian Husky who spent five years suffering in a puppy mill in Brazil. But thanks to her foster mom, Maya recovered from the scars of her past and is now living her best life.
Some dogs didn’t have it easy in life. Maya, for example, has gone through the worst experiences at the hands of cruel humans. For so many years, she was kept in a cage and was forced to bear puppies for profit.
Maya went through so much abuse that she became paralyzed from the waist down. When she could no longer produce puppies, her humans deemed her useless. They planned to give her rat poison to get rid of her.
But Maya’s life took an unexpected turn. Silvia Rayssa caught wind of Maya’s situation and promptly came to the dog’s rescue. Silvia could very well remember how relieved Maya looked when they left that terrible place.
Silvia has a lot of experience in fostering animals in need. She feels a different connection with them. So, when she saw Maya and the deplorable state that she was in, Silvia could only feel love and compassion towards the dog.
Maya’s new life
Silvia was committed to helping Maya recover. She never left the dog’s side for the first two days she got her. She said that Maya was skittish at first, and Silvia perfectly understood. The dog never knew love for the past five years, so it’s probably difficult for her to trust people.
Silvia persisted in getting Maya treated. She already knew that Maya would no longer recover the use of her legs, so she was happy to see that the pooch had adapted to using the wheelchair excellently. Silvia saw Maya run and play as if there was nothing wrong with her.
It took a while to heal the physical and emotional scars Maya sustained in her previous life. But she has a strong fighting spirit. She never buckled down, even at the worst moments of her life.
Right now, Maya is living the life of a happy and healthy dog. Many people praise Silvia for doing a good job caring for Maya. But Silvia insists that she did not rescue Maya; it was the other way around. Maya came to her life when she was going through a rough patch herself. For her, it was Maya who taught her how to be brave amidst life’s trials.
