Puppies should experience love during the early stages of their lives. But this pooch named Otto had it the other way around. When he was three months old, the pooch was abandoned by his former owners, together with his other siblings. This was the time the puppies arrived at the Greenville Humane Society (GHS).
Otto’s other siblings were in good shape, but he was not as he suffered from a severe jaw injury. Based on the findings of a GHS employee, the dog got the injury through blunt force. The same employee suspected that the pooch got thrown from a car, therefore causing the trauma.
Although he had a rough start at life, this did not hinder Otto from being a loving and loyal pooch. Additionally, while it was a struggle for him to provide kisses, he would give kisses unselfishly, especially to the volunteers.
The dog’s story, however, does not stop there. Since the volunteers experienced the dog’s light side, they rallied themselves to get donations for Otto’s jaw injury. They know that the dog would still have a chance to get his jaw done and rise from this fallback.
Fortunately, donations started to pour in, and the volunteers raised enough funds for the dog’s medical expenses. Before the operation, the volunteers prepped the dog and assured him everything would be alright. But it was apparent in Otto’s face that he is ready for the surgery and would survive the same.
The operation was done at the Foothills Veterinary Hospital, and the same went well. For a few weeks, the dog ate and consumed food through a feeding tube. This ensures that his jaw would heal and would not get infected if he eats right away. After recovering, Otto became even more generous in giving out his kisses.
