This is a story of an exceptional canine who had to live at a shelter for a very long time but she took it as an opportunity to win the hearts of everyone around her.
When Ray Kinz, from Ransomville, walked into the local SPCA in Niagara, he was looking to adopt a dog. He asked the staff to lead him to the canine, living at the shelter for the most extended duration. Janelle Harris, who handles adoptions at the center’s front desk, immediately guided Ray to a five-year-old Pit-Bull mix named Bonita.
.
Ray decided to adopt Bonita right away and told Janelle that he would soon be coming back to make the adoption official.
Bonita had been living at the shelter for five hundred days. The dog was an amiable and loving creature, and that had made her become very close to the employees at the shelter. Although the staff was genuinely going to miss Bonita, they were still happy that the dog had found her forever home.
The staff at the shelter decided that Bonita could not be allowed to leave without a memorable farewell. So the preparations started. Janelle gathered party decorations, and the employees and volunteers arranged gifts.
On the day of the farewell, everyone waited in the lobby for Ray’s arrival. When Ray arrived at the shelter, he noticed that every parking slot was filled, but he had no idea what was going on.
The staff gathered around the shelter door, and when Bonita peeked out of the door, everyone cheered and clapped. The dog then leaped outside to receive countless hugs and kisses from the staff.
Everyone at the shelter loved the spunky and fun-filled personality that Bonita had. The employees and volunteers wanted to express their love in the best possible way to their beloved four-legged friend, and that’s exactly what they did.
The video of the farewell later came on the SPCA’s Facebook page. It immediately went viral, and people from all over the world celebrated Bonita. Dog lovers felt delighted to see a pooch getting her forever home after having to wait for so long.
